Excitement on the Racecourse!

Chelmsford City Racecourse is the newest racecourse in the UK and just one of only five fully floodlit All-Weather tracks capable of offering horseracing all year round. Some of our major races include:

  • Cardinal Stakes
  • Chelmer Stakes
  • Louis Roederer Queen Charlotte Stakes
  • Chelmsford City Cup

Bets can be placed around the racecourse, and also by our roving courier staff that will be able to take your bet on the go.

British Racing is among the world’s best regulated animal activities. The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) is the Government recognised body responsible for the regulation of horseracing. Together with the RSPCA and World Horse Welfare, it is a leading signatory of the National Equine Welfare Protocol.

About Chelmsford City Racecourse

Chelmsford City Racecourse opened its doors in 2015 and since then has gone on to become one of the busiest racecourses in the UK. By providing some of the highest prize-money in British racing, the racecourse routinely attracts some of the most successful and prominent trainers and jockeys in the world.

We also hold an amazing array of concerts and festivals from a wide range of acts; from the likes of Sophie-Ellis Bextor, Razorlight, Boyzone, and Steps to tribute acts for bands such as Queen and ABBA.
